Speculation? Second guessing? Accusations of Trump being a neocon, a warmonger? Even some daring to compare him to Hitler? Take a hard look at the cost of freedom.  10,000 of our own were lost at Normandy.  We fought to annihilate a dire threat, to prevent it from ever being posed again. To decisively end it.

We didn’t fight to satisfy a “status quo”, to “win hearts and minds”, or be culturally correct.  Our troops were not hamstrung by fallacious, self destructive “rules of engagement”.

If we retained that mindset, and not cow towed to the U.N. in 1950, Korea would have been made a free country.  That “police action” cost us 33,600 killed in action.  More than 8,100 are still missing.  Exact statistics vary with different sources; from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_casualties_of_war

The threats we face today do not deserve one drop of American blood, for the sake of a “status quo”.  War is a last resort; and only when there is a clear, direct threat to us.  Moreover, this enemy will use any means to win; there are no clear battle lines, their guerilla tactics call for an entirely different approach.  Any of them, age notwithstanding can be a combatant.  When not warring with us, they are at war with themselves.  They seek to destroy our culture and replace it with theirs.  We shouldn’t be drawn into Syria, or other middle east involvement.  We’ve lost too many of our own, and spent too much.

Remember –

Since 2001, radical Islam has taken center stage; their assaults on our way of life defy all previous notions on how to conduct warfare against them.  It remains to be seen whether a concise, efficient method can be put into effect to curtail their activities, and the idea of “ultimate victory” (as in WW II) is a pipedream at best.

Their strength has been because of the guerrilla warfare nature of their operations, not a clear “front line” but random attacks where we were forced to react instead of being able to interdict them in advance.  The government assaults on personal privacy, and NDAA, (making us a de-facto police state) were put in place supposedly to ensure our safety. Are we any safer than prior to these events?  NO!

Now the Islamic State is openly engaged in a sort of conventional war, but while they are the most immediate threat, radical Islam and their hit and run tactics has not changed.

Military tactics will have to be carefully thought out; indeed, completely rewritten. In Korea, President Truman had cashiered General MacArthur; and that conflict, the first “police action” via the U.N. resulted in no victory; merely keeping the status quo.

The 50’s cold war activities included attempts to develop field use of tactical nuclear weapons; the cannon described here was actually deployed in 1957, thankfully these were never implemented, though there still may those who may favor the notion that limited nuclear weapons could be engaged against radical Islam.  Regardless of our advanced weapons technology, THIS IS NOT FEASIBLE.

The weapons leveled against Hiroshima and Nagasaki were one-half kiloton. To all but the most dense individuals, their destructive power, and after-effects are well known. By the 70’s we had ICBM’s with 20 Megaton warheads.

I have NO idea how many kilotons equal one megaton.  I post the following statistics, and video of one tactical device here to prove how these are not only the wrong answer, but far more importantly, why radical Islam, and countries like Iran CANNOT be allowed to wield nuclear weapons.   The video does provide an idea of how much more powerful these early 50’s devices were in comparison to the Hiroshima bomb.

Supervillain secret weapons by order of Congress produced the 280mm M65 “Atomic Cannon”, affectionately called Atomic Annie, which rolled off the assembly line on October 15th, 1952.  Truly, the M65 was the strangest weapon that the Ordnance Corps of the Department of the Army ever produced.  It filled an important deterrence role in the tactical nuclear arsenal of continental Europe when it was deployed in 1957 with the 7th Army’s’ 3rd Armoured Division by way of attached units from V Corps, serving in West Germany.  A total of twenty cannons were built. Of those, about ten to sixteen where deployed.  The M65 remained in service until 1963.

The completely mechanical and hydraulic design allowed the M65 to fire a 600 lb. shell up to 18 miles.  No electronics were used in the operation of the M65.  Deployed as a tactical nuclear defensive weapon, it could fire the T-124 conventional high explosive shell. The M65 was also semi-mobile, and could be set up and ready to fire within 8 minutes.  It required two dedicated tractor-trucks, which were attached at the front and back of the gun carriage to push and pull it into firing position.  If battle damage disabled the gun’s hydraulics, it could be aimed manually by turning geared wheels, but it was loaded by a hydraulic power rammer.  One cannon, including transport vehicles and a separate armoured ammunition carrier, required a total crew of 22.  The recoil from firing 600 pound shells was absorbed by dual recoil buffers, one of which separated the barrel from the upper carriage, the other separating upper and lower carriages.  90% of the 50-ton gun weight actually recoiled.  To discourage enemy infantry, each transporter was fitted with a .50 cal. Browning machine gun.  Better safe than sorry.

Thankfully, the M65 was never fired in anger.  The W-9 atomic artillery shell came in 3 yields, and the maximum lethal range of the shell was dangerously close to the 18-mile range of the M65.  80 W-9 shells were produced from 1952-53 for the T-124 280 mm shell.  A W-9 shell was fired as a part of Operation Upshot-Knothole, a series of atmospheric atomic tests performed in Nevada during 1953.  On May 25, the test named GRABLE saw the M65 fire a 15 kiloton W-9 shell 7 miles into the Fulda gap, a natural feature in the desert at Frenchman Flat, Nevada.  A mock town complete with buildings, roads and used cars was constructed at target ground zero and soldiers occupied trenches less than 5 miles away. Hundreds of high-ranking Armed Forces officers and members of Congress were present, anxious to see their new toy in operation.  The shell detonated 524 ft above its target in a timed airburst.

It was the equivalent of the Hiroshima A-bomb.

Seven M65s survived the Cold War and are on public display today.  The largest atomic cannon sits in a public park in Junction City, Kansas, on permanent loan from the Smithsonian.  Another can be seen at the National Atomic Museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.   Source – ATOMIC CANNON

From Wikipedia –  Excerpt from Abraham Lincoln’s Lyceum address

Abraham Lincoln‘s Lyceum Address was delivered to the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois on January 27, 1838, titled “The Perpetuation of Our Political Institutions”.  In this speech, Lincoln spoke about the dangers of slavery in the United States, as the institution could corrupt the federal government.  Lincoln warned that mobs or people who disrespected American laws and courts could destroy the United States.

In the speech, Lincoln discussed in glowing terms the political system established by the founding fathers, but warned of a destructive force from within. He asked his listeners:

“Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.”

Link to this speech at Wikipedia:

Lincoln then warned that a tyrant could overtake the American political system from within.

Putting the hammer down; preceded with an intro by Rudy Giuliani, Trump tells it like it is.

The reason for this title will be made evident in due time; I must preface this with my personal opinions, and perspectives.

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

For the record, I am starting this at 0438 PST.  When I finish, I will enter that time, since the time stamps given have never coincided with the actual posts.

This is for all Americans with a wit of common sense left in them; it is for the candor, and forthright blogger Hammerhead.  It is for all who serve and have served this country, indeed it is for those without a voice, being under “rules of engagement”…

Finally, it is in part, why I created the blog Profiles In Courage; those who would take up arms again, were they alive, to exact a terrible retribution against the evil that has befallen this once righteous country.

  •               *               *               *               *               *

I am a professed Christian.  I have no righteousness of my own; it is by imputation, by the One who was perfect, and made a sacrifice for us.   I regret my sometimes feeble attempt in the continuing battle to conform myself to Him, and forsake the trappings of this world.

I am also but flesh.  I fail to “not let the sun go down on my anger”, when I am made angry.  I recognize my failure to follow the directives given at the Sermon on the Mount.   I rail against being good to my enemies…

Luke 6:27-29King James Version (KJV)

27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

What we learn long before we reach our teens, sets precedents for our future behavior toward ourselves and others.  I won’t go into that further, it is still too raw at times even at 63, to be specific.  I will say that by the time I was seven, I realized that there were some individuals that recognized and respected only force; power to power, and regarded kindness as weakness to be exploited.  Indeed, Israel does well to “NEVER FORGET”

Two days ago, Hammerhead Combat Systems posted a column about Veterans who became victims of Burn Pits.  Rather than repeat it all,  please find it HERE     When you’ve read it, you will know why I will take so long in finishing this commentary.

I am having to blend directness with prudence, and force with civil language. NOT EASY.

Despite great divisions among Americans, we have tried to set a good example.  After WWII, the persons in power carved up the globe, setting the stage for what was to be called the “Cold War”.  Seemed we had learned not a damned thing from WW II.  The U.N. had their precious “Police Action”; Korea has been called the “forgotten war”.  It cost many American lives.  The Veterans who suffered so much must have felt betrayed, and in retrospect, it accomplished nothing.

I was inclined to enlist several times between my Senior Year, and 1971, when I became “eligible” for service.  The quotes are intentional.  I kept this to myself though, not saying anything even to my close friends.  When I was 19, it had ceased to be a draft.  It was a lottery; my number had come up in the high 300’s, so I wasn’t going anywhere.  Yet, I considered joining the Navy anyway, until I noted the attitude toward returning troops which was plain disgusting.

Vietnam was repugnant to me; if I just knew they would unleash our military, instead of the piecemeal application of troops, and egregious F*****g “Rules of Engagement” I’d have enlisted in a New York minute.

At some point, there is a line that can’t be crossed without pushing back, and swiftly.  God almighty gave us a brain with reasoning powers; we are not supposed to let others do our thinking for us, we are not supposed to be led around by our nether regions, we are not supposed to allow evil to flourish because we don’t have the Cajones to stand up and say enough is enough.

The term “Intelligence” when referring to the military has become a bad joke.  Hammerhead’s column was a grim reminder of how badly these men are used and abused by insane rules and procedures; I can’t accept virulent stupidity, it is one of my hot buttons, which kindles an unhealthy anger within me.

In my opinion, due to actions by the Viet Cong, I can read between the lines as to undisclosed reasons why commanders of troops in the Middle East required burn pits; (the vets that read this will fully understand) yet why they couldn’t be located a safe distance from troop concentrations, and placed so as to be downwind at least most of the time escapes me.  If this is a continuing practice it needs to be loudly, and publically addressed.  Government ineptitude in the management of the VA is another issue that can’t be swept under the rug.  Those who protect us ought not to have the suicide rates that have come into public notice, while illegal immigrants get handed everything legitimate citizens are left begging for.   I am left with utter disgust, and nothing further to say.

It is 0702 am, PST, regardless of the time stamp posted.

which was also a sad reminder that we damn near succeeded in Afghanistan, until we became involved in Iraq.  Windows to other videos which appear after a video has been viewed led me to this one; like a dog returning to its vomit, we witness a propensity toward repeating another arms race, what government had called “mutual destruction” capability, to negate a suicidal nuclear war.  However, there are many players now.   Availability of said weaponry is no longer safe from what we used to call “fringe groups”.   The stupidity of man “kind” knows no bounds.   Yet another reason to be grateful that God is in charge, not us.

War is war. A last resort when other methods of resolution fail.  The carrion birds in government need to get the hell out of micromanaging the military.

Full prosecution, and unconditional surrender, when going to war has been decided -as in WWII- not hamstringing our troops.  The entire Regime is guilty of subversion, and other treasonable acts; (see The Worst Cancer – Government Islamics   Exposed: Muslim Recruiting Station on Lackland Air Force Base, TX)  but I was not aware of the exact extent of these egregious “rules of engagement”.   X.  CLICK ON LINK:

stand your ground

                                        *******  HONOR THE FALLEN  *******

We have a lot on our plates. Thanks to the internet, -no thanks to the MSM- I have become aware that Israel may be as politically divided as we are here in the U.S.

In a posting by The Hill, it was reported  “Exit polls on Tuesday found Israel’s parliamentary elections are too close to call.”

“Even the most prominent parties in Israel typically only win a plurality of votes, in which case it’s up to that party’s leaders to negotiate a coalition that brings them the majority of the body.

Israel’s Channel 10 projected after the polls closed Tuesday night that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party and the Zionist Union slate would each take 27 seats in the next parliament, The Times of Israel reported.

Channel 2 found that Likud had a small lead, with 28 seats to Zionist Union’s 27.

With the race that close, it was not immediately clear if Netanyahu would retain his grip on power.””

Why is this so important?  We need to have a clear account of what’s happening, their safety, and security is critical. They are the linchpin to future world events; especially with the rise of ISIS and other Islamic elements throughout the Middle East, and now, in other parts of the world.

The post commented “If the exit polls hold, or remain reasonably close, all eyes will turn to Moshe Kahlon, leader of the newly founded Kulanu Party, who split from Netanyahu’s Likud Party in 2013 and is expected to pick up as many as 10 Knesset seats in today’s election. Kahlon’s strong showing positions him as kingmaker, with both Netanyahu and Herzog likely requiring his support to pass the 60-seat threshold needed to form a coalition”

Again, why is this important?

The post further comments “President Obama remains committed to working very closely with the winner of the ongoing elections to cement and further deepen the strong relationship between the United States and Israel,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Tuesday afternoon. “The president is confident that he can do that with whomever the Israeli people choose.”

While our government “has remained officially neutral in the elections”, there is no love lost between Obama and Netanyahu. We realize Obama’s true intentions toward America, none of them good; so his “commitment to work closely” and further deepen the strong relationship between the United States and Israel” is just so much bunk.

Now we get a glimmer of the crucial nature of the current elections:

A government led by the center-left Zionist Union, led by Isaac Herzog, could give Obama the chance to rebuild ties with Israel at a critical time for a potential nuclear deal with Iran.

Pardon me if I see a red flag when the term “center-left” raises its head.  “Herzog has pledged to help mend U.S.-Israel ties and re-start peace talks with the Palestinian territories.” the post continues, but while “Herzog has been hesitant to throw his full support behind a nuclear deal with Iran.” I am unconvinced the he would be as insightful or as strong in leadership, which we see with Netanyahu.

Moreover, this statement, “I trust the Obama administration to get a good deal,” Herzog told The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg in an interview last December. “We hope they’ll get the best deal possible.” makes me want to puke.  No “deal” they make with Iran can be any good.

The post concludes:  Herzog, however, said “we should not rule any alternative off the table” until a deal is struck.

“We shouldn’t be naïve to believe that if there’s a deal, all is well,” he added, adding that strict supervision is needed because “the policies of the Iranian regime are clear to us.”

I  think this is a real nail-biter; Herzog IS naïve to trust the Obama administration at all. With the elections so close, it remains to be seen whether Netanyahu will have the last word, or if a “center-left” leadership emerges in Israel.

Indifference, apathy, “I didn’t do anything wrong, why should I worry”…

Followers of my blog need only peruse the tabs “Big Brother” or “Free Country” to find other evidence as to why inaction makes you complicit in your own demise.  Remember (in view of recent developments) that the Department of Homeland Security went on a bullet buying spree; and these were said to be for training. Hollow points are NOT used for training.  Our supposed victories in the recent election proved how corrupt Boehner and others are by allowing another egregious bill to be passed, when it should have been shot down, despite the national debt being well over 18 Trillion dollars.

Second of two video from above author.

Regardless of where on this planet you live, and no matter what your nationality, the fact that the indefinite detention provisions of the NDAA are still on the books, should disturb you on a fundamental level. If not, give it three minutes.

The National Defense Authorization Act which was passed in 2012 and extended in 2013 and 2014, authorizes the U.S. military to arrest anyone, anywhere on the planet, to deny them access to a lawyer, and to detain them indefinitely without at trial. Furthermore the U.S. government claims the right to do all of this in secret.

The right to a fair trial, is gone, and without the right to a fair trial, you have no rights at all.

Of course some would argue that the NDAA only targets enemies of the United States, as if this somehow would make it ok, but that defense doesn’t hold water. (And by the way the NDAA does apply to U.S. citizens.)

It doesn’t matter who the law claims to target, and it doesn’t matter under what conditions the politicians claim it can be used. If you don’t have the right to a lawyer, and you don’t get your day in court, and if the government isn’t even obligated to disclose the fact that they dragged you from your house in the middle of the night, then who is going to make sure this isn’t abused? The soldiers? The politicians? Come on.

The power to make someone disappear without a trial is the power to make up any excuse that’s convenient. Evidence is only needed if you have to prove your case in court. That’s why we have courts.

The protections codified in the constitution were put there for a reason, but at this point it looks very much as if America is going to learn that lesson the hard way.

Land of the free right?

You can put your hand over your heart and celebrate something that no longer exists, or you can be honest with yourself.

That might be a bit painful. No one wants to believe that their kids are going to live under a military dictatorship. No one wants to see this coming. So most people put their head in the sand.

Those who don’t, always start with one question: What can we do?

The first thing you need to understand here is that our problem is psychological not material. You have the means to take your power. And you don’t need a set of specific instructions. You don’t need someone to hold your hand and explain your role. You don’t need someone to give you permission. What you need, is to turn off your tv, turn off your radio, put down the ipad, and ask yourself if you’re going to be able to look your grandchildren in the eyes and tell them honestly that you did everything in your power to turn this around.

Are you going to push this out of your mind because it’s uncomfortable, or are you going convert that discomfort into a driving force?

I’ll tell you this much: If that thought itches in the minds of enough people we’ll figure out a way to scratch it, and If that driven feeling is fully established in your heart, you’ll find a way to make it spread.

P.S. If you want a practical starting point to take action on the NDAA get in contact with the guys at People Against the NDAA. Dan Johnson (the founder) is one of those driven people who are making a difference.

As regards Iraq and ISIS-

Rather than go into a long dissertation on Islam -the facts being already known-  I’d just point out that recent events in Iraq are the same damnable ones we witnessed in another country, Vietnam, after having lost over 53,000 of our young men in the process.

Here is an excerpt from Girls Just Wanna Have Guns:

Iraqi Christians in Danger, Fleeing from Jihadist Advance

As the jihadists swept into Mosul this week, they reportedly looted and torched churches, raised their black “there is no god but Allah” flags and started demanding that women wear the Islamic veil.

The Assyrian International News Agency identified two of the targeted churches as the Chaldean Church of the Holy Spirit, and an Armenian church under construction, which it said was bombed.

Barnabas Fund, an aid agency that supports minority Christians in Islamic countries, said the attacks on churches were “a clear statement from ISIS that they are no longer welcome in Mosul.”

“It is feared that this latest exodus could be the final death knell for the Christians of Iraq,” said Barnabas international director Patrick Sookdheo.

“Having previously sought refuge in Syria, this is no longer an option, and as ISIS violence threatens the stability of the wider region, Christians have very few places of safety to which to run.”

An Iraq-based representative of the religious freedom advocacy group Open Doors sounded a similar warning.

“This could be the last migration of Christians from Mosul,” the organization quoted the representative as saying. Open Doors says an estimated 1,000 Christian families were living in the city as of Monday this week.

“The Islamist terrorists want to make Iraq a ‘Muslim only’ nation and as a result they want all Christians out,” Open Doors USA President/CEO Dr. David Curry said in a statement.

History is repeating itself yet again; Congress needs to force the sphincter muscle in the whitehouse to assist in the evacuation of all Americans still there: Civilians, contractors, military personnel, and all Christians as well.

Let the misbegotten -omitted- take their damned country. Let them kill each other off; they’re  unconscionable, and bestial brutes. The only time they quit fighting among themselves is when they unite to attack Israel.

If the situation gets so bad that the U.N. comes crying for us to intervene, our answer should be:

We will not sacrifice one more American life in an Islamic country; the only intervention we will use is the method we used against Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. Take it or leave it.
