Those who attack American culture and tradition should recall that historically, freedom and prosperity are the aberrations, not servitude and poverty. Our nation’s success is not a happy accident or part of a natural, unstoppable progression that can’t be changed. Nothing could be more foolish than to abandon the traditions, religion, work ethic, family structure, moral code and culture that made this country wealthy and free while expecting to continue to reap the rewards of practices we now scorn as too demanding and judgmental. What we sow as a nation, we should expect to reap and the crop these days isn’t looking very good.

1) The CBO estimates that the interest payments on our debt alone  will take up 36% of the budget in 2030, 58 percent in 2040 and 85 percent in 2050.

2) Fears that America would go bankrupt in the next few years used to be a fringe belief. Now, Doomsday Preppers is a TV show, gold, guns and survival seeds are being widely advertised and vast numbers of Americans are making decisions about purchases, investments, and saving money that take into account the possibility that the country could bankrupt within the next decade or two.

3) “Half of all children born to women under 30 in America now are illegitimate. Three in 10 white children are born out of wedlock, as are 53 percent of Hispanic babies and 73 percent of black babies.” — Pat Buchanan

4) “The IMF calculates that to maintain the present spending trend the United States will have to nearly double (88 percent increase) all federal taxes to maintain theoretical solvency.” — Kevin Williamson

5) In 1963, a movie that wanted to get the approval of the Production Code of the Motion Picture Association of America “could not include any profanity stronger than hell or damn,” couldn’t take the Lord’s name in vain, and “couldn’t present sex outside of marriage as attractive or justified.” Today, even many video games targeted at teenagers don’t meet those standards.

7) The U.S. Put a man on the moon in 1969; yet we no longer even have a manned space program.

8) Like the Roman Empire in the decades before her collapse, America is unable to control its borders or properly assimilate vast numbers of people entering our country.

9) In 2005, roughly 10% of our Gross Domestic Product  was spent on compliance with regulations created by the federal government.

10) America lost its AAA credit rating that it has held since 1917 and no one is even discussing how we could get it back.

11) Economic growth for the middle class  has essentially been flat since the 1970s.

12) Forty seven percent of Americans don’t pay income tax. That means not only are the poor not paying their own way, a significant number of Americans in the middle class aren’t being asked to pay in taxes what they receive in government services.

13) There is a 100 trillion — with a “T” — gap between what our government is currently promising to pay to retiring senior citizens and the money it’s on track to have. Just to give you a little perspective, our current national debt is approaching 17 trillion dollars.

14) Only about 30% of Americans think the country is on the right track.

15) Only about 15 % of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. The British undoubtedly would have had better poll numbers than that before our ancestors revolted against them.

16) “In the fifties, one in twenty members of the workforce needed government permission in order to do his job. Today it’s one in three.”

17) “In 1950, 78% of households were occupied by married couples. Today, that number has slipped all the way down to 48%.”

18) “Consider this: the U.S. Economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009. In the same period, 3.1 million workers have signed up for disability benefits. Back in 1992 there was one person on disability benefits for every 36 people in employment. Now the ratio is 1 to 16.” — Niall Ferguson

19) Gun sales hit record highs in 2012. That’s partially because of fears of gun control, but it’s also because of a growing fear that a breakdown in societal order is coming down the road.

Stockman requests Boehner automatically kill Senate amnesty bill though ‘blue slip’

WASHINGTON — Congressman Steve Stockman Thursday sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner requesting he immediately kill the Senate’s amnesty bill, S. 774 through a constitutionally-required “blue slip” resolution.
“Not only is the Senate amnesty bill an abuse of taxpayers and immigrants, it’s utterly unconstitutional. The Senate cannot invent its own amnesty taxes,” said Stockman. “I hope Speaker Boehner will immediately kill the amnesty bill through a constitutionally-required blue slip. As long as the amnesty bill sits in the House it poses a threat to taxpayers and immigrants.”

Several provisions of the Senate amnesty bill create new taxes, a violation of the “origination clause,” Article I, Section 7, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution, which states “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”

A “blue slip” is a resolution that automatically returns to the Senate any bill that violates the origination clause of the United States Constitution.

Blue slip resolutions are immediately considered as a matter of constitutional privilege, are debatable for an hour and are not subject to amendment.

Section 2102 of the amnesty bill requires the payment of certain taxes and forgives the payment of other taxes as a condition of receiving amnesty and other benefits. The Constitution prohibits the Senate from approving bills that raise revenue.

Stockman also points to the Congressional Budget Office, which flatly states “enacting S. 744 would have a wide range of effects on federal revenues, including changes in collections of income and payroll taxes, certain visa fees that are classified as revenues, and various fines and penalties. Taken together, those effects would increase revenues by $459 billion over the 2014-2023 period.”

Dear Mr. Speaker,
When the House of Representatives receives S. 744, I hereby request that you raise a point of order that the legislation violates the origination clause of the United States Constitution; that “all Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.”

Although there are other provisions in the bill which are in violation of the prerogatives of the House, the most obvious is section 2102 which requires the payment of certain taxes and forgives the payment of other taxes as a condition of receiving benefits under this legislation.

The Congressional Budget Office analysis of S. 744, dated June 18, 2013, on page 44 states in part that “enacting S. 744 would have a wide range of effects on federal revenues, including changes in collections of income and payroll taxes, certain visa fees that are classified as revenues, and various fines and penalties. Taken together, those effects would increase revenues by $459 billion over the 2014-2023 period, according to estimates by JCT and CBO.”

Therefore, I urge you to protect the origination clause and the intent of the Constitution by using the ‘blue slip’ to return S. 744 to the Senate.

Residents of the High River area of Alberta, Canada, who had already been  evacuated from their homes for more than a week were further angered Thursday  when it was announced that the Mounted Police were seizing firearms from  evacuated homes.

The Mounties claimed they had urgent need to enter each of the homes, and  they further said that they only seized guns that were stored unsafely in plain  sight.

“We just want to make sure that all of those things are in a spot that we  control, simply because of what they are,” said Sgt. Brian Topham. “People have  a significant amount of money invested in firearms … so we put them in a place  that we control and that they’re safe.”

Officials say the guns will be returned once the evacuation order is lifted  — provided residents can provide proof of ownership.

The whole situation seems a little convenient.

You have to wonder what “urgent need” would require officials to forcibly  enter evacuated homes and search for firearms. You might also wonder why the  authorities didn’t simply patrol flooded areas and guard against looters if they  were worried about residents’ property.

Then there’s the likelihood that not every resident will be likely to have  proof of ownership of guns taken from their homes. People inherit firearms, and  sometimes they just don’t keep records.

“Now what they’re doing is looking for firearms and ammunition.  How do  they have the right to do that? What does that have to do with the  disaster?  … This is martial law.  What has happened to our country?”  business owner Brenda Lackey asked the Globe and Mail.

The evacuees are already angry at what they view as an incompetent government  that has not allowed them to return to their homes and deal with flood damage.  Late this week, some had threatened to break through barricades keeping them  from their property.

At one such barricaded road, a police official tried to convince residents  the evacuation was for their own good. One member of the crowd shouted, “Are we  children? We’re adults!”

That’s a liberal government for you. It has to control everything because it  views the public as children, especially when it comes to issues like gun  control.

In the liberal state, it’s you who can’t be trusted.

Black American Leadership Alliance Outspoken Against Immigration Bill

The passage of the Senate’s Immigration Bill will not deter the mission of the Black American Leadership Alliance (BALA) and its coalition partners.

The Senate passed their version of a immigration bill yesterday by a 68-32 vote, sending it to the House of Representatives, where Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said it would not be considered in lieu of the House’s own version.

The BALA told Breitbart News that will continue to oppose any immigration bills:

  • that don’t include border security measures first

  • that offers a path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million illegals in the nation

  • that have not been read by Congress before its passage (as with the Senate Bill); or

  • that put political and corporate interest ahead of those of the American people and workers

As put to Breitbart News, BALA and its coalition partners want to know how President Obama and members of Congress can consider a speedy passage of  a pro-amnesty immigration bill for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrations at the time, when an estimated 22 million Americans remain among the long term unemployed. BALA is also demanding answers from Black elected officials and leaders who have remained mostly silent on the issue at a time when 1 out of 7 blacks are currently out of work as the jobless recovery drags on. These officicals are fully aware that this bill will flood the American labor force at the expense of jobless minorities, who can no longer support their families at this time.

Weapons Sent to Radical Islamic Nations Likely Will End Up Killing Americans, Israelis

The Obama administration should stop sending taxpayer dollars to nations that embrace Islamic terrorism – nations that behave like adversaries, not allies.

Case in point: Egypt and the radical Muslim Brotherhood. The Obama administration recently agreed to spend an additional $250 million in taxpayer funds to send weapons to this increasingly unstable nation.

That’s in addition to the more than $1 billion annual taxpayer giveaway to Egypt. The U.S. is putting highly sophisticated tanks and warplanes in the hands of terrorists – terrorists who are hostile to America and to our longtime ally, Israel.

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi is a blatant and outspoken anti-Semite who calls Jews the “descendants of apes and pigs” and says that Egyptian children should be “nursed” on “hatred” for Israel.

The Muslim Brotherhood, the governing political body in Egypt, is widely recognized as an organization that inspires and supports terrorism and is affiliated with the terrorist group, Hamas. Al-Qaida’s leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, even has direct ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Egypt is now becoming not just a source of terrorists but also a launching pad for terror attacks; including deadly ones launched against Israel from Egyptian soil. And Egyptian terrorists were present in the 2012 Benghazi attack and in the recent attack and violence in Algeria. There also are credible reports that Egyptian authorities denied the U.S. direct access to a Benghazi terrorist suspect, a disturbing act from an alleged “ally.”

Egypt has passed a Shariah-based constitution that restricts religious freedom and provides a legal basis for continued persecution of Egypt’s embattled Christian minority. The government-backed persecution of Coptic Christians gets worse by the day.

The reaction from the Obama administration? Send Egypt hundreds of millions of dollars in high-tech weapons – 200 M1A1 Abrams battle tanks and some 20 F-16 fighters. The most recent shipment of four warplanes was sent to Egypt just weeks ago. Eight more F-16’s will be delivered by the end of the year. The troubling fact is that the U.S. has become Egypt’s major arms supplier.

This is not only dangerous to our national security, but it also represents an extremely significant threat to Israel. As Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, put it: “Friends don’t send U.S. taxpayer-funded F-16s and tanks to the enemies of their friends.”

Every new F-16 or tank delivered to Egypt is another weapon that can be used to consolidate the Muslim Brotherhood’s grip on power. Every new dollar of economic aid buys the Brotherhood more time.

For President Morsi, this aid represents far more than a marginal increase in military and economic strength; it represents an American seal of approval and a stamp of legitimacy on his repressive regime. Every F-16, every Abrams tank is a propaganda victory for the Morsi regime.

Egypt still has a chance for moderation. After all, few things cure radical impulses better than the experience of radical rule, and the country does have a long recent history of peace with Israel. But moderation will be infinitely more difficult to achieve if we arm and aid its most dangerous enemies.

With Americans asked to tighten their financial belts because of the sequester, our government should withhold sending hundreds of millions in taxpayer funds to nations like Egypt, until we get proof – and that means actions, not just words – that they are a true ally. It’s time we sequester terrorists.

As Egypt still struggles to determine its destiny, if we put our thumb on the scales at all, we must not do so in favor of jihadists. The Muslim Brotherhood needs our weapons and our money. We do not need the Muslim Brotherhood.

And we don’t need U.S. taxpayers footing the bill.

Gang of Eight? More Like Gang of Snakes

Snakes_Broche_-_René_LaliqueThere  is a lie that is permeating within recesses of our beloved Republican Party.  It  is a lie that is certainly going to end political careers in the very near  future.  What is this lie you ask? It is that if we swallow amnesty for illegal  aliens that they are going to stop being big government minorities and vote for  our guy.

This supposed “Gang of Eight” bill is a nightmare and it is a nightmare for  many reasons.  The first is that it is being filled with an ever-widening amount  of amendments that amount to nothing more than amnesty and money for young  people and those who have disregarded our sovereignty and spit in the face of  our rule of law.

When this column is finished many of you will most likely comment below that  I am a racist or that I am bigot and some of you may even cap it off with a nice  liberal sentence like, “Mark, no human being is illegal.”   So, instead of  talking to each and every person who leaves me this comment this is what I am  going to say:  The facts in this column are solid and I encourage you to check  them out.  I don’t apologize for these facts or that I have told them to you; if  you are waiting for me to cry and beg for forgiveness like Paula Dean, tune back  in when hell freezes over.

Let’s start by looking at this thing by the numbers.  How many immigrants are  we talking about here? Roughly 11million people will be given amnesty.  To give  you an idea: Latino immigrants hold a 50-1 advantage over European immigrants.   We take in ten times as many people from El Salvador as we do from Australia.   So the idea that wanting to seal the border in order to balance out our racial  make up in this country isn’t racist, it’s just smart.  We have more Latino  immigrants than we know what to do with now, why would we welcome more?

On to the Republican Party “expanding” it’s base to include Latinos.  Well,  first of all it’s important to understand that, in the last polling, Latinos  made up a mere 8.4% of the electorate.  Only 48% of eligible Hispanic voters  turned out to the polls.  So, I guess Marco Rubio and John McCain think we  should sell our souls and our party down the river for eight percent of the  vote? That’s eight percent if we got lucky and won them all over!

Finally, there is a provision in this bill that would allow certain crimes to  be ignored if committed by one of these illegal aliens.  The crimes range from  domestic violence to tax fraud to identity theft.  If you or I were to commit  these crimes we would be spending some time in the big house.

Speaking of the big house, a lot of these “undocumented Americans” seem to  have quite a persuasion for violent crime. According to Pew, forty percent of all persons sent to  federal prisons in 2007 were Hispanics.  Three quarters of them are here  illegally.  One third of these convictions were drug related offenses while  close to ten percent were for other crimes, particularly violent ones.

What we must not fail to miss is that these people are coming here illegally  and undocumented from what is the most violent place in the Western Hemisphere.   According to Stop The Drug War, since the drug wars began in 2006,  70,000 people have been killed in Mexico, a number matching the civil war zone  in Syria.  Yet the Gang of Eight thinks that only the nice Mexicans are sneaking  into America.

What would the world look like today if the Chinese never invented black powder?  What would the world look like today if the first hydrogen atom was never split?

What might have been, could have been or should have been doesn’t really matter at this point.  The proverbial genie was let out of the lamp many centuries ago… and all that matters now… is, where do we go from here?

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

There is little greater that separates us from the rest of the world than those words right there.  The rest of our freedoms are shared with many nations, but the right of the people to keep and bear arms is that which sets us apart.  Our insightful forefathers knew that, just as they required that right themselves to acquire our republic, we would one day require it ourselves to keep it secure.  Not necessarily secure from a foreign invader, but secure from the enemy within.  What part of “shall not be infringed” do they not understand?  Oh, they understand it very well.  They understand, that all that stands between us and tyranny are those hallowed words.  They understand as we do, that the second amendment ensures all the rest.

Today in America, there is a liberal constituency that have disillusioned themselves into thinking that we would somehow be safer without guns.  They believe that all murders would end and suddenly utopia would wash up on our shores and everyone will sing kumbaya.  Well, nothing could be further from the truth.  You see, the act of murder is not begot from a gun but it’s born from the heart of a man.  Long before those Chinese alchemists accidentally stumbled upon black powder, murder existed.  Whether it was by the stone or by the sword, murder long predates the gun.  If every firearm was removed from the planet today, there would still be murder tomorrow.  Whether it be by the sword of the Arab, the noose of the Persian or knife in the kitchen sink.. death will not cease to exist.

If the liberals really want to save lives, they should focus their efforts on the heart of man.  They should concentrate their efforts on enforcing the laws on the criminal instead of forcing their agenda on the innocent.  Especially since criminals do not obey the gun laws now, so why would they once our rights are taken away?

So, what would an America with no second amendment look like?  If we, the citizens of the republic allowed this right to be taken from us today, to what nation tomorrow would we awake?  In order to gain a greater understanding of that future, first we must look to the past.  Many nations have already walked that path, so let’s see how that worked out for them, shall we?

1—–Nazi Germany established gun control in 1938 enabling the government to round up 13 million defenseless Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, mentally ill and impaired human beings, imprisoning them in concentration camps, and by a conscious process of attrition, destroyed them.

2—–The Turkish Ottoman Empire established gun control in 1911, proceeding then to exterminate 1.5 million Armenians from 1914 – 1917.

3—–The Soviet Union established gun control in 1929. Subsequently from 1929 – 1953, 60 million dissidents were imprisoned and then exterminated.

4—–China. Gun control laws were enacted in 1935. Between 1948 – 1952, 20 million Chinese, unable to defend themselves, were likewise murdered.

5—–In the United States the first gun control laws were enacted during the Civil War era to prevent guns from falling into the hands of black slaves who might be inclined to attack their masters and thereby keeping control in the hands of the latter.

6—–Guatemala. Gun control laws were passed in 1964: as a result, between 1964 – 1981, 100,000 defenseless Mayan Indians met their deaths.

7—–Uganda. Established gun control measures in 1970. Predictably, from 1971 – 1979, 300,000 defenseless Christians met a similar fate.

8—–Cambodia. Established gun control measures in 1956, subsequently from 1957 – 1977 one million Cambodians met their deaths.

Between 1903 and 1911, Turkey enacts gun control laws that were designed to keep firearms out of the hands of Armenians. These laws were successful. . Between 1915-1917, 1.5 million Armenians were systematically rounded up and exterminated by the Turkish government.

In 1938, Germany enacts gun control laws which were targeted squarely at the Jews. Between 1939 and 1945, 13 million Jews and other undesirables were rounded up and exterminated by the German government.

Adolph Hitler’s own thoughts on gun control:

“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so.”

Guatemala has a long history of legislating guns out of the hands of peasants. Between 1964 and 1985, 100,000 Mayan Indians were rounded up and exterminated by the Guatemalan government.

China establishes gun control in 1935. From 1949 to 1975, 50-60 million Chinese citizens are exterminated by the Chinese government lead by the infamous Mao Zedong.

The soviet Union, under Joseph Stalin, made use of existing gun laws to ensure that his extermination of some 60 million people went smoothly.

The first Soviet gun controls were imposed during the Russian Civil War, as Czarists, Western troops, and national independence movements battled the central Red regime. Firearm registration was introduced on April 1, 1918. [13] On August 30, Fanny Kaplan supposedly wounded Lenin during an assassination attempt; the attempted assassination spurred a nationwide reign of terror. [14] In October 1918, the Council of People’s Commissars (the government) ordered the surrender of all firearms, ammunition, and sabres. [15] As has been the case in almost every nation where firearms registration has been introduced, registration proved a prelude to confiscation. Exempt from the confiscation order, however, were members of the Communist Party. [16] A 1920 decree imposed a mandatory minimum penalty of six months in prison for (non-Communist) possession of a firearm, even where there was no criminal intent. [17]

After the Red victory in the Civil War, the firearms laws were consolidated in a Criminal Code, which provided that unauthorized possession of a firearm would be punishable by hard labor. [18] A 1925 law made unauthorized possession of a firearm punishable by three months of hard labor, plus a fine of 300 rubles (equal to about four months’ wages for a highly-paid construction worker). [19]

Stalin apparently found little need to change the weapons control structure he had inherited. His only contributions were a 1935 law making illegal carrying of a knife punishable by five years in prison and a decree of that same year extending “all penalties, including death, down to twelve-year-old children.” [20]

Uganda established gun control in 1970 (Firearms act of 1970- This legislation made legal ownership of firearms more difficult than the pre-existing 1956 British colonial legislation through an expanded system of firearm registration and prohibitive licensing. It also banned a wide range of firearms. Civilian ownership of firearms, already low in Uganda, appears to have been virtually eliminated (Simkin, et al., 1994, pp.285-289). Between 1971 and 1979, 300,000 Christians are rounded up and exterminated by the government of Idi Amin.

Cambodian gun control was a legacy of French colonialism.[97] A series of Royal Ordinances, decreed by a monarchy subservient to the French, appears to have been enacted out of fear of the Communist and anti-colonial insurgencies that were taking place in the 1920s and 1930s throughout Southeast Asia, although not in Cambodia. [98] The first law, in 1920, dealt with the carrying of guns, while the last law in the series, in 1938, imposed a strict licensing system. [99] Only hunters could have guns, and they were allowed to own only a single firearm. [100] These colonial laws appear to have stayed in place after Cambodia was granted independence. The Khmer Rouge enacted no new gun control laws, for they enacted no laws at all other than a Constitution. [101]

Cambodia was a poor country, and few people could afford guns. [102] On the other hand, the chaos that accompanies any war might have given some Cambodians the opportunity to acquire firearms from corrupt or dead soldiers. There is no solid evidence about how many Cambodians, with no cultural history of firearms ownership, attempted to do so. [103]

As soon as the Khmer Rouge took power, they immediately set out to disarm the populace. One Cambodian recalls that:

Eang [a woman] watched soldiers stride onto the porches of the houses and knock on the doors and ask the people who answered if they had any weapons. “We are here now to protect you,” the soldiers said, “and no one has a need for a weapon any more.” People who said that they kept no weapons were forced to stand aside and allow the soldiers to look for themselves. . . . The round-up of weapons took nine or ten days, and once the soldiers had concluded the villagers were no longer armed, they dropped their pretense of friendliness. . . . The soldiers said everyone would have to leave the village for a while, so that the troops could search for weapons; when the search was finished, they could return. [104] 

People being forced out of villages and cities were searched thoroughly, and weapons and foreign currency were confiscated. [105] To the limited extent that Cambodians owned guns through the government licensing system, the names of registered gun owners were of course available to the new government


What do all of these Cambodians have in common? They were unarmed and they were killed by their radical left wing government.

More recently, In Rwanda during the 1990s, some 800,000 unarmed Tutsis were slaughtered by the new Hutu government. It is interesting to note that most of the murders were committed with machetes. More interesting than that, however, is the fact that communist China supplied the Hutus with 581,000 machetes in 1993 BUT Even more interesting than that is that the former Secretary General of the United Nations, one Boutros Boutros-Ghali, facilitated the arms deals with the Hutus, the deal that facilitated the genocide. In 1990, then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Boutros-Ghali, facilitated an arms deal which was to result in $26 million worth of mortar bombs, rocket launchers, grenades and ammunition being flown from Cairo to Rwanda and then used to perpetrate a genocide a few years later. China. The UN. Gun control. Genocide.

Democide is a term revived and redefined by the political scientist R. J. Rummel as “the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide, and mass murder.”

His research shows, further, that the death toll from democide is far greater than the death toll from war. After studying over 8,000 reports of government-caused deaths, Rummel estimates that there have been 262 million victims of democide in the last century. According to his figures, six times as many people have died from the inflictions of people working for governments than have died in battle.

Bottom line, statistically speaking, you are much more likely to be killed by your government than by a gun wielding maniac in a theater especially if you have allowed your government to disarm you. It should be obvious to you after reading this, that it has primarily been radical left wing socialist/communist governments imposing gun control and then perpetrating genocide against select members of the newly disarmed populace. It is also worth mentioning that gun registration typically precedes these events. It ought not be surprising to you that the leftists of this country are the ones pushing for gun control in the name of preventing crime despite an abundance of evidence that shows that gun control does not prevent crime. Further, it should come as no surprise that registration of long guns is increasingly being touted as a “reasonable” gun control legislation. Sales of assault rifles ending up in the hands of Mexican cartels was, in fact, to be the just cause for this incremental step towards subjugation of the free men and women of America. Luckily, their machinations were sufficiently exposed and thus foiled. They know what they’re trying to do. They do have an agenda. They do intend to disarm this country one way or another. Remain vigilant my friends. Not one step backwards. Ever forward. The life you save may be your own.

 Ted Cruz Exposes Amnesty Bill:   $5000 Penalty For Hiring Citizens Over  Legalized Aliens

We can’t possibly expect our Senators to read a 1200 page bill before voting  on it. Can we? Well Thank God Ted Cruz read it. Not only did Cruz read it but he  schooled anyone who would listen from the Senate floor on Tuesday. Cruz found a  loophole that actually penalizes an employer $5000 for hiring a citizen over a  legalized alien. Seriously. You can’t make this stuff up. Senator Cruz was  quoted as saying:

“I filed an amendment that would have corrected one of the most egregious  aspects of the gang of eight bill as it intersects with Obamacare legislation,  namely a penalty imposed on U.S. employers for hiring U.S. citizens and U.S.  permanent residents. This bill says if an employer hires a citizen or a legal  immigrant, the IRS can impose a $5,000 penalty on that employer. But if the  employer instead hires someone with RPI status, that penalty will go away. That  is utterly and completely indefensible.”“Nobody in this body wants to see African-American unemployment go up. Nobody  wants to see Hispanic unemployment go up, youth unemployment go up, union  household unemployment go up, legal immigrant unemployment go up. Yet every one  of those will happen if this Gang of Eight bill passes without fixing this  problem. If that happens, all 100 members of the U.S. Senate will be accountable  to our constituents for explaining why we voted to put a federal penalty on  hiring U.S. citizens and hiring legal immigrants. I hope this body will choose  to pass my amendment and fix this grave defect in the Gang of Eight  legislation.”

It would be very interesting to know whose hand was responsible for slipping  this into the bill but it surely won’t be the only surprise that comes from a  1200 page bill that has not been scrutinized by the majority of those who voted  to pass it.

John Hayward reports:

Cruz already weathered a few hilariously botched attempts to “fact-check” his  claim into oblivion, which ended with the “fact checkers” admitting he was right  about the problem, but questioning whether employers would respond to this  incentive on the scale he envisions.  (That, of course, is a difference of  opinion, not a fact check.)For added fun, the Weekly  Standard collared five of the Democrat senators who voted to cut  off debate on the immigration bill, and asked for their take on the problem Cruz  describes.  None of them knew if the loophole had been addressed yet.   Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) babbled something incoherent that had nothing  to do with the question; Tom Carper (D-DE) snarled that he was too busy to  answer the question; and Max “Train Wreck” Baucus, the author of ObamaCare,  mumbled: “We’re trying to solve that right now… I don’t know if that’s been  solved.”

America, what in the hell are these Senators trying to sell us? I don’t even  know where to begin with this story so I believe I will stop while I am ahead.  Senator Cruz sums up the problem really well in the video. I will defer to the  expert.

This is unreal, unbelievable and unforgivable.
