Not sure why you are asking that question. I use Gmail because My Yahoo Account was hacked 3x’s. It was the 3rd time I moved to Gmail.
All of my “sent” mail was taken. I contacted Yahoo. AND, THIS IS WHAT REALLY WEIRDED ME OUT! They said, “Just run your cursor over your sent messages and we’ll know which ones to return.”
I said, “How can I do that when all of my sent mail IS GONE!!!
With 15 minutes ALL of my sent mail was back in my “sent mail slot.”
Then my pass word was changed and I DIDN’T DO IT.
So, I changed it again.
Then ALL of my email contacts were deleted. Thank God I had a hard copy… then I opened my Gmail Account.
I haven’t had any problems with it at all.
Per the post I sent, (link) Google is a pipeline for the gov’t. That was a real nightmare you experienced. I’m not happy with Yahoo either ( my dsl browser) had what I think was a hack attempted 6 yrs ago. A tech reestablished my account, but I had to use a new address, so when I got that done, I set up two sub accounts. A very select few people know my primary account. (this is one of my subs) I try to take efficient precautions. One example; use a very strong password. Mine is 14 characters, numbers mixed in. Don’t go to Google for searches, use Startpage as your default search engine. Thanks for the feedback.

I just had a friend tell me 2 weeks ago that he Yahoo account had also been hacked and she couldn’t get back in. My password is only 9 figures and letters long.
